Work stoppages in 2003, as compared to 2002, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (.pdf): Number of stoppages: down 26% (from 19 to 14) Number of workers involved: up 180% (from 46,000 to 129,000) Number of workdays lost: up 521% (from 660,000 to 4,100,000) Or "fewer in an even more polarized context"? |
